The polyamide fibres under our furniture glides are soft yet highly durable. It doesn't wear out easily and lasts a long time. However, proper installation, correct use, and regular maintenance are essential.

Tips to get the most out of your furniture glides:

  • Choose the largest possible glide foot. The larger the surface, the better the pressure is distributed. This is especially important for heavy furniture, rough floors, or floors with wide joints.
  • Install the glides correctly. Always follow our mounting instructions.
  • Follow the maintenance guidelines. Clean the glides regularly with a damp cloth, vacuum cleaner, or maintenance brush.

Measure the inside of the hollow leg accurately and choose the size that matches your inner diameter or inner width:

Size guide for round legs

  • Inner diameter 10–14 mm: small
  • Inner diameter 14–21 mm: medium
  • Inner diameter 20–30 mm: large

Size guide for square legs

  • Inner size 10 × 10 to 13 × 13 mm: small
  • Inner size 14 × 14 to 18 × 18 mm: medium
  • Inner size 19 × 19 mm: medium*

Tip: Use foam or other filling around the base part to reduce the internal size and ensure a snug fit in the hollow leg.

Which glide foot size should you choose?

When it comes to the size of the glide foot, the rule is: the larger the surface, the better the pressure is distributed. A larger glide will always allow the chair to glide more smoothly. That’s why we recommend using the largest possible size.

Note: For floors with wide joints or for heavy chairs, always choose the largest glide foot.

  • Flooring type: all hard-surface flooring such as wood, PVC, vinyl, exposed concrete, PU/epoxy cast floors, ceramic tiles, etc.
  • Material: plastic equipped with scratch-proof polyamide fibres.
  • Installation: one-time mounting of the base part, replaceable glide foot (please read the measuring instructions carefully for square legs).
  • Glide surface: ⌀29 or ⌀35 mm. Select ⌀35 mm for rough surfaces, intensive sliding or heavy furniture.
  • Furniture height: furniture is raised by a maximum of 28 mm.
  • Please note: before placing an order, always read the additional information below carefully.
Important information

Do not use the Footfixx Hollow 3.0 for drop-shaped, diagonally cut, oval or rectangular furniture legs. Use the Footfixx Wood instead and screw it into the original plastic insert.

Please note that our glides require occasional maintenance.

Note for bent chair legs:
Some chairs have slanted legs which are bent towards the end of the tube, making the bottom part of the chair legs straight. For this particular type of chair legs, the length of this straight bottom part is very important:

Length base part of Footfixx Hollow 3.0 small: 30 mm

Length base part of Footfixx Hollow 3.0 medium: 36 mm

Length base part of Footfixx Hollow 3.0 large: 52 mm

If the length of the straight bottom part is longer than the length of the base part listed above, the Footfixx Hollow 3.0 is not suitable for your chairs. Instead, the Footfixx Wood can be used by screwing it into the original plastic inserts of the chair legs.

*Put foam or another filling around the base part in order to reduce the inner dimensions of the tubular leg for the base part to stay in place.

Mounting instructions
  • Remove the original plastic insert from the tubular chair leg.
  • Insert the base part into the tube as far as possible.
  • Tighten the base part with an Allen key until it is fastened securely.
  • Click the glide foot onto the base part’s round ball joint until it locks into place.
